Performer Call Out: Drag Show 2017

Mark your calendars! The TQC's annual drag show and cabaret is booked for April 7th this year, and we're looking for performers to help make this year's event as fabulous as ever!

If you perform drag routines, burlesque, or any other performance art such as singing, dancing, acting, or juggling, please get in touch with us! We've had a wide range of performances in the past and are open to quirky (and queer) acts.

If you are interested in performing, please get in touch with us by March 6th and send us a brief description of your act, your tech requirements, and MP3 files of any music used in your act. Please also include a short biography which will be read on stage by the TQC. (please email trentqueercollective@gmail.com)

This year we're pitting sci-fi against fantasy in our theme "OUT of this World!" So send us your best space cadets, aliens, time-travelers, elves, fairies, and nymphs in this spectacular blend of genres.

Hope to see you there!

Cheers,
The TQC

ReFrame 2017

Hey all!

This year's ReFrame Film Festival is almost upon us! ReFrame is an annual film festival in Peterborough which showcases films from a variety of different social justice issues.

The Trent Queer Collective is sponsoring two films at ReFrame this year (which you should definitely all go and see):

  • MAJOR! - Showing at Showplace on Jan 27 at 2:55 pm.
A documentary about the life of Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, who has been a strong advocate for trans women of colour for more than 40 years.

  • Two Soft Things, Two Hard Things - Showing at Market Hall on Jan 27 at 11:30 am.
This documentary examines the erasure of Inuit traditions of sexuality and family structure by colonialism, and a new generation coming together to celebrate LGBT2Q pride in Inuit communities.

If you get the chance, we also recommend going to see Real Boy on Saturday, January 28th! You can also check out the full 2017 ReFrame schedule here.

Tickets are available online through the ReFrame website or in person at the GreenUP store on Aylmer Street.

Hope to see you there!
